Handmade

Dimensions

Length: 225 Metres; Yarn weight: 3 DK & light worsted

Material

Primary fibre: Wool

Corriepol DK! Its here at last and in six gorgeous and subtle colours. Spun from dyed tops in large batches, so no need to alternate skeins. This is the same blend of ethically produced wool that's in my sock yarns and is beautifully soft. Its gently superwash treated here in Yorkshire so that it still has the feel of real 100% wool but is resistant to shrinkage and felting when washed.

The six colours available are:

Merlot: a deep wine red
Shale: a classic dark grey
Pine needles: deep, deep forest green
Spiced latte: a dark burnt orange, deep and rich
Lichen: a soft shade of lighter green
Kingfisher: a perfect deep turquoise

All of my bases are ethically produced. My supplier visits the farms where the flocks of sheep graze whether in the UK mainland or in the British Falkland Islands. He knows the farmers personally and the sheep graze freely in their environment. The fleece are sorted, cleaned and supplied to UK mills for high quality worsted spinning. If the yarn is superwash, it has been treated in the UK, by a company in Yorkshire who use processes that are carried out to have as little impact on the environment as possible. They also ensure the highest safety for their workers.

100g skeins with approx 225 metres of yarn. Sweater quantities available (all from the same large batch). The colour within each skein and between skeins is carefully quality controlled and very consistent.
