Analog Journal Five
Dispatches from a small business in
A 148mm Square Colour Zine
12 images, 26 double sided pages
160gsm, silk finish. Card cover.
This is the fifth analog journal examining Analog photography and experimental darkroom practices.
This journal started as an exploration of the cyanotype printing process and grew to become a full print series and exhibition.
Near Earth Objects is a playful collection of outer space like objects. It makes a connection between objects you would find on a walk near your home and those that exist beyond the Earth's orbit. Objects of similar shape, form and material. It is the idea that in our everyday life we regularly encounter objects whose mineral compositions form the building blocks of life.
These images were captured with a range of cameras and then printed as cyanotypes, one of the earliest invented ways of printing photographs. The cyanotype chemical process is triggered by light from our nearest star connecting the prints with the history of astronomy, as the cyanotype process was invented by the astronomer John Herschel.
Honestly, this work has been a real milestone and really pushed my work into exciting new territory. I'm really proud to share it with you!

Dominic's text and imagery blend together seamlessly to create a vision both large and intimate at the same time. Thank you!
