Plus size cotton dress from the late 50s or early 60s. A truly rare large size for this era, 40" waist. And beautiful fabric!

Pure cotton voile with a delicate leaf or fern print, in soft watery blues and greens. It's quite sheer, you would probably want to wear a slip.

A half collar and soft pleats at the neckline, draping softly over the bust, then blousing out slightly from the waist. Short straight sleeves. A self fabric covered belt and thread belt loops. Flattering a-line paneled skirt.

Fastens with a metal zip at the side, and another short (nylon) zip at the back of the neck. It has pale pink unpadded shoulder 'pads', they are completely flat but give a little shape and structure to the shoulder - see photo. They could easily be removed if preferred.

It's clipped to shape on the dress form, so I've included a hanger photo too so you can it in it's full glory!

Though made later, it retains some 1940s styling, and could work for a 1940s look.

VERY GOOD CONDITION the only flaw I can see is a touch of fraying on the fabric covered buckle.

Bust 49"
Waist 40"
Hips 56"
Bodice length 17.5" (to blouse out on a shorter woman)
Skirt length 25.5" (3.5" hem allowance)
Overall length: 43"
Shoulder to shoulder 17"
Sleeve length 10"
Sleeve opening 16"
Belt adjustable from 38.5" to 41.5"

No labels except self belt is marked "Hy-Tek" Guaranteed. Appears skillfully home made.
