Fine art print of my original Crayfish watercolour miniature painting, 4x4 inches.

This will arrive unframed and unmounted in protective packaging. Framed image is for display only, the other pieces shown are also available as limited edition prints.

Each print has been hand made using an Epson P600 Surecolor Printer, Ultrachrome HD archival ink and Epson Archival Matte Paper.
This particular painting is very important to me, as it was actually crayfish that pushed me to go vegan 3 years ago. I was in my final year studying Zoology, and my dissertation project was based on anxiety like behaviour in crayfish. This piece is based on one of the crayfish I experimented on, who moulted in the lab and left his beautiful shell behind (I still have it!). Even as a non vegan, I was becoming more and more uncomfortable with the project. I didn't physically have to kill any crayfish, but my supervisor did. Crayfish are given absolutely no welfare protection, because they are invertebrates. I was bothered because the research I was doing was on crayfish being able to experience anxiety - a complex emotion only thought to be possible in mammals. Despite this, crayfish and other crustaceans are boiled alive and given absolutely no welfare protection.

5% of all profits from this piece will be donated to Clear Ripple Projects.

All materials used to create the original piece, and the prints are vegan and cruelty free.

I hope you will enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed creating it!
