A Triptych work of carbon polymer and crushed carbon exploring texture and process I use on my my 'carbonature' sculptures.
Each piece involves a very lengthy and labour intensive process, from reclaiming the materials to burn in a oxygen starved environment. To cooling, super fine grinding and mixing.

Once complete and cured, the light shimmers on the surface of the pieces similar to water, constantly changing. With every movement of the viewer, and every change of light.

This piece was produced as one, then separated into three, The result is for the ripples of texture to flow and continue over the separate canvasses.

I have a great affinity and respect for water and similar to standing on the shores of an ocean, I wanted to recreate a sense of belonging, fundamental connection.. Yet astounding insignificance in the face of the vast expanse of the void.
