A handmade book as a tribute to Jane Austen - this would make a lovely unique gift idea for the book lover - I can include a printed dedication too! I have chosen some of my favourite quotations from her work, and illustrated them to bring Miss Austen alive again! Jane Austen has been loved by the reading public for decades and were she to know of her popularity, I believe she would have had something pithy to say about it! We read her novels because they are witty and wise, and have something to tell us about ourselves even in a very different era. As Germaine Greer said 'Self-worth could have been invented by Jane Austen.'

The book arrives wrapped in my Austen print wrapping paper with a bespoke postcard for you to gift with if you are sending the book to someone special!

The one pictured is now sold, and each book I make is unique, so covers will vary slightly!

My handmade books are designed by myself and each one is made to order , with the covers differing so each is a unique keepsake. I print onto a textured watercolour paper of archival quality . I use an ancient method of binding to allow the book pages to lie flat.

The finished book measures approx 11 x 15cm.

Each book I make is researched and produced by myself, and reflects my interests in art, history and literature. Nature is also a theme which I return to. Each book is individual and can be much longer in it's gestation than in its manufacture!! Some take months to become clear to me!!
