PRISTINE: As new, with absolutely no flaws or wear
EXCELLENT: Previously worn with no notable flaws
VERY GOOD: Previously worn with minimal noted flaws
GOOD: Visible wear, noted flaws, may need light repair
FAIR: Numerous noted flaws, may need repair, may not take repeated wear
POOR/CUTTER: Damaged beyond repair or wear, study piece only

CLOTHING: HOW WE MEASURE AND FITTING ADVICE

I give the garment's measurements, compare these with a similar garment that fits you well to check fit. Clothing needs to be bigger than you are, so allow at least an inch or two for ease of movement in addition to your body measurements, more for coats or loose fitting garments. Feel free to ask for advice.

Measurements are taken with the garment laid flat, and kept 'relaxed' not stretched.

Bust or Chest: underarm to underarm, doubled
Waist: across natural waist/narrowest point, doubled
Hips: measured side to side 8" below waist, doubled
Shoulders: from shoulder seam to opposite shoulder seam, at the top
Sleeve length: from shoulder seam to cuff
Raglan sleeve length: from back of neck to cuff
Sleeve inseam: from underarm to cuff
Bodice length: from back of neck, below any collar, to waist, or as specified
Overall length: from back of neck, below collar, to hem, or as specified

OTHER INFORMATION

Clothes: Larger sizes may be pinned back on the mannequin to show the shape. Full skirts may be shown over a full petticoat. Unless otherwise stated jewellery, belts and other accessories are not included.

Clothing will be either hand-washed or steam-cleaned to freshen when necessary.

We operate from smoke-free home with a cat - though we don't let him near the vintage! Vintage may have traces of odour or pet hair from their previous owners, though anything significant will be pointed out.
