Vintage from the 1960s

Silver, Stone

Length: 37 Millimetres; Width: 25 Millimetres

A fascinating Sterling silver Modernist brooch dating from the 1960s or so. It's stamped on the pin with '925' and the maker's initials which look like ER/LR/EK/CK (indecipherable). The stamps are so tiny they're hard to see with the naked eye.

The smooth silver looks like freeform crushed or folded undulating fabric, like it has movement and is soft. The shape is irregular and unpredictable - most likely a one-off artist's studio piece. There's a spherical amber stone sitting neatly on top in the middle (I'm unsure of the type and origin of the amber). The amber is burnt orange in colour with the usual inclusions you'd expect. The roll-over clasp on the pin works well, although it is fiddly.

3.7mm x 2.5cm, weighs 6g. Just the right wearable size - big enough to notice, small enough to be delicate and curious. A very unusual and unique piece!

Free P&P to the UK. Comes in a presentation box.

This seller usually responds within a few hours.

Items weighing under 2kg total will be posted by 2nd class Royal Mail. If it's a high value item I'll add Signed For. Items weighing over 2kg will be posted by Hermes, and if they are high value I'll add Signed For. I may not be able to post to some areas of the UK, such as the Channel Islands, but I'll give it a good go! I'll try to post within 24 hours (when Post Office opening hours allow).
All postage abroad will be by Royal Mail's International Tracked and Signed service, so will need signing for your end. Please say if you'd prefer just a Tracked service instead. I can't post anything that weighs over 2kg or is larger than a 'small parcel'.
I have specially chosen these items to be of superior quality and condition for their age and era. All my items are vintage (25+ years old) and may naturally have some wear and tear which may not be in the description. I have written everything to the best of my ability, and tried to describe any obvious flaws. The photos also help to show the condition - please view all photos and read the descriptions.
For lower value items I'm happy for you to provide the address and unique code for a UK onward mailing company, but I cannot accept responsibility for any damage or non-delivery beyond the mailing company's address. Once the UK mailing company has safely received the parcel it is no longer my responsibility.
Why buy new? Buy vintage, and help protect the planet. You're rescuing vintage pieces for future generations. Also, please don't bin my packaging - save, re-use and recycle. Thank you.
I use large bubble bubble-wrap with strengthening card and sturdy cardboard boxes. I often double box for safety and I re-use old newspapers to fill any gaps. I have been selling on Etsy for over five years and know and trust my packing. Jewellery is posted in small sturdy cardboard jewellery boxes, in a mailing bag. (Please re-use or recycle any packaging!)
UK free postage is factored into all my prices... I think UK customers like to see an upfront price including postage with no hidden surprises. Sorry I can't offer free post worldwide.
