Vintage from the 1960s

pottery, Glossy brown glaze, Sandy dull glaze, Darker overlay

Height: 18.3 Centimetres; Width: 9 Centimetres

A cylinder vase by Scheurich Keramik, West Germany - commonly known as the Amsterdam or Onion vase. Dating from the 1960s/1970s 'fat lava' era, this has a murky sandy ochre tone overlaid with a darker colour. Three dimensional onion shaped patterns with matte glazes over, and glossy brown inside. Mid Century Modern and retro in styling - perfect statement for your teak sideboard and to add to an Onions collection. Perfect size for a bunch of flowers and ideal for a neutral decor.

The shape is 285-18... 18 denoting 18cm tall (well, slightly taller). 9cm wide. Stamped to the base. One tiny chip on the outer rim that you won't be able to spot. Excellent condition. Please see photos.

NB: Photos taken in a warm artificial light so they're not quite accurate - the colour is unusual dark murky ochre/sandy/mustard, with a some light brown tones and darker brown/black overlay. It almost looks like it has been drawn on, like a sgraffito finish. I hope you know what I mean!?

Price includes P&P to the UK.

This seller usually responds within a few hours.

Items weighing under 2kg total will be posted by 2nd class Royal Mail. If it's a high value item I'll add Signed For. Items weighing over 2kg will be posted by Hermes, and if they are high value I'll add Signed For. I may not be able to post to some areas of the UK, such as the Channel Islands, but I'll give it a good go! I'll try to post within 24 hours (when Post Office opening hours allow).
All postage abroad will be by Royal Mail's International Tracked and Signed service, so will need signing for your end. Please say if you'd prefer just a Tracked service instead. I can't post anything that weighs over 2kg or is larger than a 'small parcel'.
I have specially chosen these items to be of superior quality and condition for their age and era. All my items are vintage (25+ years old) and may naturally have some wear and tear which may not be in the description. I have written everything to the best of my ability, and tried to describe any obvious flaws. The photos also help to show the condition - please view all photos and read the descriptions.
For lower value items I'm happy for you to provide the address and unique code for a UK onward mailing company, but I cannot accept responsibility for any damage or non-delivery beyond the mailing company's address. Once the UK mailing company has safely received the parcel it is no longer my responsibility.
Why buy new? Buy vintage, and help protect the planet. You're rescuing vintage pieces for future generations. Also, please don't bin my packaging - save, re-use and recycle. Thank you.
I use large bubble bubble-wrap with strengthening card and sturdy cardboard boxes. I often double box for safety and I re-use old newspapers to fill any gaps. I have been selling on Etsy for over five years and know and trust my packing. Jewellery is posted in small sturdy cardboard jewellery boxes, in a mailing bag. (Please re-use or recycle any packaging!)
UK free postage is factored into all my prices... I think UK customers like to see an upfront price including postage with no hidden surprises. Sorry I can't offer free post worldwide.
