Vintage from the 1970s

Lilac glass, Freeform glass, Handmade vase

Height: 15 Centimetres; Width: 11 Centimetres

A rarer 1974 lilac coloured Whitefriars 'Knobbly' vase, model no 9843. Rare as Lilac was only produced in 1974. Lightly folded, squashed or manipulated outer, as per other collectable Whitefriars Knobbly ranges from the 60s/70s. The range was designed by William Wilson and Harry Dyer around 1964. Made in England, blown freeform glass (so each one is different). Due to the freeform handmade manufacture of these, these have small bubbles and deliberate random undulations and folds. Also see p18 of the 1974 Whitefriars catalogue online.

This vase is about 15cm tall. Its chunky middle is about 11cm wide. A very heavy 1.6kg. Would hold a good dozen stems, if used.

Excellent condition for age... no chips, scratches or nibbles. No water staining. Base shows signs of the age and era. There is an internal burst bubble inside the inner rim, about 1cm down - from time of manufacture. There's a couple of internal inclusions (small ash flakes probably, see last pic). And it has natural internal bubbles. All mentioned for accuracy, but this is a fab displayable collector's example, all just as it should be.

Price includes P&P to the UK. UK only, sorry.

Items weighing under 2kg total will be posted by 2nd class Royal Mail. If it's a high value item I'll add Signed For. Items weighing over 2kg will be posted by Hermes, and if they are high value I'll add Signed For. I may not be able to post to some areas of the UK, such as the Channel Islands, but I'll give it a good go! I'll try to post within 24 hours (when Post Office opening hours allow).
All postage abroad will be by Royal Mail's International Tracked and Signed service, so will need signing for your end. Please say if you'd prefer just a Tracked service instead. I can't post anything that weighs over 2kg or is larger than a 'small parcel'.
I have specially chosen these items to be of superior quality and condition for their age and era. All my items are vintage (25+ years old) and may naturally have some wear and tear which may not be in the description. I have written everything to the best of my ability, and tried to describe any obvious flaws. The photos also help to show the condition - please view all photos and read the descriptions.
For lower value items I'm happy for you to provide the address and unique code for a UK onward mailing company, but I cannot accept responsibility for any damage or non-delivery beyond the mailing company's address. Once the UK mailing company has safely received the parcel it is no longer my responsibility.
I use large bubble bubble-wrap with strengthening card and sturdy cardboard boxes. I often double box for safety and I re-use old newspapers to fill any gaps. I have been selling on Etsy for over five years and know and trust my packing. Jewellery is posted in small sturdy cardboard jewellery boxes, in a mailing bag. (Please re-use or recycle any packaging!)
I have a Fine Art degree and worked in publishing for 25 years... But now this is me full time!
I estimate a UK mainland delivery to be 2-3 working days from time of ordering, but please allow a week at busy times or holidays. EU and European deliveries should be about 5 days, but please allow up to 3 weeks and keep an eye on the tracking details online. American deliveries should be 5 days to 3 weeks, but again, please allow more time during busy periods of the year and keep an eye on your tracking details online. Canada can be slow with mail, so please allow 1-6 weeks and keep an eye on your online tracking details. The weather, seasonal holidays and your locality may effect the delivery times. If you're worried and have waited more than a reasonable amount of time, please contact me, I'm here to help!
