Vintage from the 1960s

Glass, Cut glass sides, Amber floating colour, Sommerso layer, Red inner

Height: 6 Centimetres; Width: 4.3 Centimetres

An super example of a Murano sommerso faceted art glass block vase, attributed to and probably by Mandruzzato, Murano, Italy. Vintage 1960s/1970s mid-century iconic design - unsure of exact vintage of this example, probably 1970s.

A striking chunk of vintage art glass - it's a more petite 6" tall. It's 477g and solid glass with a small inner well suitable for holding a small bunch of short stemmed flowers. It's a vivid ruby red colour with a subtle floating submerged amber colour (sommerso), all cased in clear. Square (flat and polished) top rim and base with four rectangular polished flat sides.

It's all pretty much as it originally left the workshop, handmade by a skilled glassblower. Due to the handmade nature, it tapers out very slightly towards the top - it's 4cm wide at the base and 4.3cm wide at the top. And this particular artist has rounded off the top corners and created a softer outer rim, see photos.

Excellent condition, no chips, no noticeable scratches. One internal bubble shown on the last photo - visible near the top on one side. No water staining or marks. The rim is very good with just a couple of tiny hard to see flaws or microscopic bites, please study photos. The inner rim is as originally cut - slightly irregular.

Perfect for a mid-century mantelpiece - ideal gift for a collector. Overall I'd give it a 9/10 - very good for the age and better than most.

Items weighing under 2kg total will be posted by 2nd class Royal Mail. If it's a high value item I'll add Signed For. Items weighing over 2kg will be posted by Hermes, and if they are high value I'll add Signed For. I may not be able to post to some areas of the UK, such as the Channel Islands, but I'll give it a good go! I'll try to post within 24 hours (when Post Office opening hours allow).
All postage abroad will be by Royal Mail's International Tracked and Signed service, so will need signing for your end. Please say if you'd prefer just a Tracked service instead. I can't post anything that weighs over 2kg or is larger than a 'small parcel'.
I have specially chosen these items to be of superior quality and condition for their age and era. All my items are vintage (25+ years old) and may naturally have some wear and tear which may not be in the description. I have written everything to the best of my ability, and tried to describe any obvious flaws. The photos also help to show the condition - please view all photos and read the descriptions.
For lower value items I'm happy for you to provide the address and unique code for a UK onward mailing company, but I cannot accept responsibility for any damage or non-delivery beyond the mailing company's address. Once the UK mailing company has safely received the parcel it is no longer my responsibility.
I use large bubble bubble-wrap with strengthening card and sturdy cardboard boxes. I often double box for safety and I re-use old newspapers to fill any gaps. I have been selling on Etsy for over five years and know and trust my packing. Jewellery is posted in small sturdy cardboard jewellery boxes, in a mailing bag. (Please re-use or recycle any packaging!)
I have a Fine Art degree and worked in publishing for 25 years... But now this is me full time!
I estimate a UK mainland delivery to be 2-3 working days from time of ordering, but please allow a week at busy times or holidays. EU and European deliveries should be about 5 days, but please allow up to 3 weeks and keep an eye on the tracking details online. American deliveries should be 5 days to 3 weeks, but again, please allow more time during busy periods of the year and keep an eye on your tracking details online. Canada can be slow with mail, so please allow 1-6 weeks and keep an eye on your online tracking details. The weather, seasonal holidays and your locality may effect the delivery times. If you're worried and have waited more than a reasonable amount of time, please contact me, I'm here to help!
