Moon On A Stick - Yarn Holder for Mini Skeins

Fab! I've been making lots of granny squares for a jumper with mini skeins. This has saved me so much time as I've not had to wind up my minis. Genius.

I just put my first mini on my new Moon on A Stick, and I can't stop saying, "Wow!" What an ingenious device! I don't have a great place to easily set up my swift and winder and this will obviously be way better than holding the mini on my lap where it gets easily tangled as I'm winding.

This is my second Moon on a Stick, bought so I can use it with the first one when doing colour work in knitting. Great tool!

I love this so much. I hate having to wrestle with my big yarn swift when I am hand-winding a mini-skein into a ball, and this tool means that I don't need to ask my kids to sit holding the yarn skein on their hands for me to wind from. :-) Totally exceeded my expectations! I also love that all of the pieces store together in a small footprint and it doesn't have to be propped in a corner when not in use. Instead it fits in my knitting bag. I did end up using an emery board to slightly round the corner points on the crescents a bit because I keep bumping them when I'm using the tool to wind a mini skein from a larger ball of yarn, and they felt a little sharp. I Expect to get a lot of use from it over the next several years.
