Hessian is a rustic and hard- wearing fabric that brings texture and character to your table. Traditionally used for sacks and the transportation of coffee beans, the material is made entirely from the JUTE plant and mainly grown in India. The plant grows fully in just 4-6 months.
This natural fabric has become increasingly popular for decorating tables at events, weddings and parties. It can be ironed with a hot steam iron and spot cleaned (if your fabric has lace, do not iron over the lace).
Hessian is completely biodegradable, but, before disposing consider passing onto a gardener who will be able to use them as weed control and allow them to naturally biodegrade over time.
We only use wedding quality hessian for our table runners, table mats and coasters. it has a smoother appearance and closer weave than a lot of the runners available on other sites. Samples are available to order if you would like to check the quality before ordering.
Everything is handmade but we can usually get orders out within 1-2 working days.
Table Runners are available in three different widths, 20cm, 25cm and 30cm. We recommend a width of about one third of your table width. Choose your length from the dropdown menu, we recommend you allow for an overhang of about 20-30 cm at each end but this is down to personal preference. Bespoke sizes can be made to order but may take a little longer.
If you want to use your 'runner' as a centrepiece we have a 1m and 1.5m length
All photos of runners show the 25cm width.
Refunds: As all lengths are cut to order we regret that we cannot offer refunds on incorrect sizes ordered - we do of course offer refunds if you find your order is faulty (but this has never happened!)
Many thanks for looking XXX
