This is a fun crochet pattern for a blanket made using tapestry crochet.
The blanket is formed in rows and contains eight rows of eight fish swimming in alternating directions. Each row of fish is a different colour although you could of course use fewer colours if you prefer.
The pattern includes photos showing how to do tapestry crochet, full written instructions, tips and a chart for making the blanket. It would be suitable for a competent beginner or intermediate crocheter looking to try tapestry crochet for the first time.
The finished blanket, made with aran yarn, measures 111 x 113 cm. The pattern contains instructions for adjusting the size.
The pattern uses aran weight yarn although you could use a thicker or thinner weight if you prefer.
The pattern is provided in both UK and US terms.
Crochet level: competent beginner to intermediate.
