Jane used a repeating tessellating design in this shawl, known as an ‘Ogee’ pattern in Arabesque design. It took her a few weeks to get the design of the blocks right; initially she came up with loads of really complicated ways to create the motif but in the end it was so simple!

The stitches used in this design are ch, ss, dc, tr and dtr.

I’m happy with the finished work overall, but wish the instructions had been clearer in regards to connecting the motifs. Seeing photos of the back and front during the connecting would have made the process a lot more clear.
