These machine knitted socks are made knitting a straight piece of 2 x 2 rib first, then half is placed onto the main bed and the remainder onto the ribber bed ready for circular knitting. The sock is then knitted using circular knitting with holding position to shape the heel. The toe of the sock is grafted together. The only seam is a small one at the back of the sock ribbing.
Knitted using 4ply sock wool for instant fairisle look or any suitable 4ply wool or yarn.
This basic unisex pattern fits up to UK shoe size 8, US women shoe size 10, US men size 8½ and EU size 42. Larger sizes can be made by adding extra rows as set out in the pattern.
Suitable for all standard gauge knitting machines with ribber - Brother, Knitmaster, Silver Reed, Toyota.
Requirements 1 x 100g of 4ply knitting yarn.
This pattern knits quickly and is ideal to produce socks to sell at craft fairs.
