'Shove' drypoint, printed onto Somerset paper,

June and trailing off into July its all about the lavender plants for the bees, and they were buzzing this year.
Having the time to watch and photograph was interesting. (thanks lockdown?!)I even tried drawing from life but this is very hard as they don't sit still.

Drypoint is a technique which creates fuzzy lines which I think suits drawing bumblebees well, with all their furry bits.

First I sketch my design onto a metal plate, then scratch it into the metal with a sharp point. It is then inked and printed onto damp paper. It is a time consuming way of printing but the detail and the lovely dark blacks you get are very tactile.
I have also made each print slightly different from each other, depending on how much ink I have left on the plate and where.
Please look closely at the pictures to see which one you would prefer.

This is a very limited edition print, 3 in black and white and 4 in the colour. Each will come with the edition number, title and signed by me on the front.

The print with be backed with thick card and carefully wrapped using minimal amount of plastic.
