A crochet pattern for my Chequerboard Pumpkin design.
Chequerboard Pumpkin is a easy crochet pattern for a fabulously fun pumpkin.
The pumpkin is worked in the round in a two-colour check pattern. Only double crochet stitches are used for the pumpkin itself and there are no increases or decreases. The base of the pumpkin is then drawn together like a drawstring purse before being stuffed. Then, the top is closed in the same way.
Included are instructions to make a stalk, tendrils and flower. The stalk is worked in a spiral so there are no slip stitch joins as you work. You can either slot the stalk into the little gap at the top of the pumpkin or sew the stalk on to the top.
Skill Level: Easy
For this pattern you will need to know how to work in the round and basic crochet stitches.
Yarn: Cascade 220 Superwash, or Light Worsted/DK weight yarn, in 4 colours.
Hook: G / 4mm crochet hook
The pattern is in written format and includes helpful photos at the end. The pattern is available in AMERICAN and BRITISH crochet terms (just choose which file to download after purchasing). All of my patterns include an abbreviation list, stitch counts per row or round, an explanation of special stitches if applicable, a US/UK stitch conversion list.
!!Please note this listing is for a PDF crochet pattern and not the finished item!!

I love the look of this blanket! I haven't finished it yet, but so far it is super easy. The only reason I took off a star is because I saw this pattern in shades of blue and black and loved it. I wish the pattern had a section or something for how many blocks in each color were needed for that. But I think I can just kind of make up my own numbers and still have it turn out pretty close to that. Very excited to see the finished product!
Pattern is easy to follow and made for a great first attempt at a wrap! Easy to make wrap as small or big as you want.
I made this shawl for an aunt and I loved it so much I am going to make myself one, a wonderful pattern
great pattern! easy to follow instructions and comes out beautifully. I adapted the pattern a bit and stopped after the petals were done for a really cute coaster/table mat.
