Randomly placed stripes of varying widths look great in these crochet mittens.

Yarnadelic by John Arbon Textiles, sport/ heavy 4ply, 100% Falklands Corriedale, 333m/100g, 1x 100g skein of main colour (MC) in The Beautiful Ones.

Worked from the cuff up, increases are made before separating at the thumb. Some decreases are made at the fingertips before closing. The thumb is made after.
Tension 6cm = 13sts. The first 9 rows of pattern measure approx 5.75cm.
All hands are different. The size of these mittens can be easily adjusted by adding or subtracting the non-increase MC rows (evenly dispersed rather than all in one place) and/or stitches (ensure an even no. of multiples to allow for the cuff ribbing). Three sizes are given but feel free to adjust according to how you want them to fit. **
Approx length (mittens): Small, 22.5cm / 8.75 inches. Medium, 24cm / 9.5 inches. Large, 25.5cm / 10 inches.
Approx length (wrist warmers): Small, 17.5cm / 7 inches. Medium, 19cm / 7.5 inches. Large, 21.5cm / 8.5 inches.
Approx wrist circumference: Small, 13.5cm / 5.25 inches. Medium, 15cm / 6 inches. Large, 16.5cm / 6.5 inches.
Approx hand circumference: Small, 14cm / 5.5 inches. Medium, 15.5cm / 6.25 inches. Large, 17cm / 6.75 inches
The colours suggested are those that are shown for the main mitten sample. The MC for wrist warmers is Black Gold of the Sun, with CCs Nobody Knows and The Beautiful Ones.

My wrists are 14.5cm, hand circumference is 17cm and from wrist to fingertips, my hand measures 19cm.
I am a generous sister so made my youngest sibling a pair of medium size mittens. Her wrist is 16cm, hand circ is 18cm and from wrist to fingertips her hand measures 20cm. We both fit the medium size!
On average, a pair of mittens weighs about 55grams.
