A sweet and simple children’s sweater with zigzag colourwork detailing. Worked from the top down using a yoked construction, this straightforward knit is totally seamless. Available in 9 sizes to fit newborns to 11 year olds.

This is my first children’s garment pattern, knitted for my daughter who is due to arrive in a few months’ time, and Glen Callater is one of my favourite places on the planet. I climbed my first ever munro (the classification for the highest Scottish mountains) from this glen and have stayed in the bothy there many times. The zigzag pattern in grey and blue is reminiscent of the peaks that surround it and the waves of the loch. I only hope my daughter grows up to love exploring the hills there as much as I do!

Needles: Set of four 3.5 mm/US 4 DPNs, set of four 3.25 mm/US 3 DPNS. For sizes 12-18 mths and above a 3.5 mm/US 4 50 cm/20” circular needle and a 3.25 mm/US 3 50 cm/20” circular needle.

Gauge: 22 sts and 29 rows = 10 cm/4” in stocking stitch.
