These cards are my love letters to the Urdu language, a language I grew up separated from - in my London home with English speaking parents. I started carving these blocks in 2019 to make up for the separation and to reconcile myself with a beautiful language that had been the cause of derision in my youth. In this listing I am offering a set of three flashcards. Please include the image of the cards in your order when you check out. You can choose from the labelled illustrations in the gallery or from the list below. I have other listings for a larger set of five or a single letter. And watch this space, a whole qaida book of flashcards is in the works!
These cards are printed on 5 x 7 inch Stonehenge paper, using multiple blocks and water soluble ink. Delivery is free, in a C5 'do not bend' envelope, posted on Fridays. I hope you enjoy your flashcard prints in your home!
