Fine art giclee print of Longhorn cattle in Wanstead Park, East London.
Up to the 1990s it was not an unfamiliar sight to see cows grazing on the common land to the east of London and in the surrounding Epping Forest. They would often come into contact with humans when they strayed into the nearby suburbs. Here they would cause no end of consternation for homeowners and shopkeepers, frustration for motorists, wonderment and fun for children, and something to bark at for dogs.
Unfortunately, BSE brought local cattle grazing to an end in 1996.
In 2020 the City of London trialled an initiative to graze cattle in Wanstead Park. Principally to improve flora and fauna in some of the rougher grassland in the park (to reduce scrub), the cows also drew quite a crowd of onlookers young and old keen to see cattle grazing in a suburban park. They are kept in place using an electronic collar around their necks, linked to an 'invisible fencing system'. No wandering off into the traffic for these lovely ladies!
A £5 donation to The Friends of Wanstead Parklands will be donated for every print sold.

My drawing arrived today and I can’t thank you enough!! This was my Nan and Grandad’s house and you’ve somehow, ever so brilliantly, managed to capture all the love and happiness shared within those 4 walls. I can’t stop looking at it, with a huge big smile on my face - Thank you!!

Absolutely beautiful watercolour of my very special childhood home for my parents who have been there for nearly 30 years. I live 90 miles away, and with covid I wasn’t able to go and stay and take new photos of the house. Karen was extremely helpful in reflecting changes to the old photos I did have to reflect the house as it is now. Couldn’t have wished for anything better! Thank you so much, they’re going to love it!
