I was very lucky to even have the opportunity to take this photo. In the days before I shot this, I was hospitalized for severe dehydration that I would not have recovered from had I not made it to the hospital.
I shot this along Route 66 in the ghost town, Amboy, in the California desert. Roy's is not entirely abandoned anymore. It actually has been somewhat reopened, and has a working gas station along with a little gift shop inside that sells magnets and soft drinks. The cafe cannot make any food or coffee for lack of safe running water.
There was a motorcycle gang stopped there at the same time. Other than that, not another soul for miles.
Further on up the road is Essex, Population 100 with the last 0 covered up. I didn't see anyone at all. The buildings and automobiles all looked abandoned. I walked around a bit in the sweltering 115 degree heat, but was kind of spooked by the feeling that I was being watched. Before anything from the Hills Have Eyes could come after me, I got my dehydration-recovering behind back in the car.

The print has a half-inch white top and bottom border, giving it an attractive widescreen look; like a cinematic film still.

Standard 8" x 10" size unmatted, unframed print made on professional grade photographic paper

E-Surface Color Paper
Kodak Professional Portra Endura paper (aka Traditional E-Surface paper) has slightly textured Matte finish.
Accurate color, realistic saturation, excellent neutral skin-tone reproduction, and brighter colors are just a few of the attributes that describe it. The standard print life is 100 years in home display, and 200 years in dark storage.

This non-glossy quality is great for avoiding glare. The print will look great anywhere!

The print will not have the watermark, and will be signed and dated on the back.
