This original artwork has been created entirely by hand, using pressed leaves and grasses, designer’s quality acrylic paint and a gelatine printing ‘plate’.
Gelli or gelatine printing is a form of mono-printing which only allows for a single impression, resulting in a one-of-a-kind piece of art. No two prints are the same.
This is NOT a digital print.
A hand-cut mask for the main subject has been placed over the background to complement its form, creating a unique two-dimensional and layered effect. By giving the background context by means of a shape, it allows the artwork to come together as a whole.
You can see the intricate detail of the leaves and flowers that have been used to create the background. All my work is inspired by nature.
