Here is an opportunity to purchase a unique piece of textile art on a bag that could have multiple uses! This exclusive zipped clutch bag or pouch features an individually created panel of appliqued and embroidered art work depicting the Northern Lights.

Dimensions (approx): 22cm x 16cm x 3cm (8.5 x 6.5 x 1.25 inches)

The bag is made from a soft, felt-like black fabric which has been backed with fusible interfacing. The art work on the front of the panel is made from appliqued offcuts of batik cotton fabrics, black cotton fabric and peacock blue silk, and is embellished with machine stitching in variegated rayon threads. This is my own design based on photographs of the Northern Lights taken during a trip to Norway.

The bag is lined in peacock blue rayon and silk fabrics and has a 10cm wide slip-in pocket and several narrow slots which could be used for pens or, if you wanted to use this as a craft pouch, for crochet hooks and scissors.
I would like to think that this bag is versatile enough for you to use it in whatever way you want: either as a "statement" addition to your going-out look, or as a keepsake pouch for storing craft items such as sewing or crocheting equipment. What would you use it for?

Some of my items have different options available and the cost is as quoted. However, if you wish to mix and match features from different listings the price will vary and I will inform you as to the cost before your order is finalised. Please note that significant changes to a bag design, the fabric used and the detail of any applique will incur considerably greater costs, mainly due to the extra time required in making the bag to your exact specifications.
I am happy to work with you to come to an agreement about exactly what you require before you commit to placing the order and I start making your bespoke bag. My aim is to provide you with a friendly and helpful service!

If you would like to have your bag gift-wrapped either for yourself or for your purchase to be sent directly as a gift for someone else, this is an option that is available to you. A hand-written message of your choosing on a gift tag would be included - just let me know the details! This can be particularly useful for overseas customers wishing to purchase a gift for a friend or relation here in UK.
Generally, I keep my packaging to the minimum required for the safe transportation of your purchase. Moreover, most of it is recyclable or re-usable in order to be as eco-friendly as possible.

I use as much up-cycled fabric as possible when making the bags although I aim to not make the previous use of the fabric apparent in the appearance of the bags. The bag descriptions indicate which sections have been made from previously used materials. I am careful to avoid any blemishes or worn patches. If there is any fading or mark on a bag due to the previous use of the fabric, I will make this clear in the description. Please note that it is due to the use of repurposed fabrics that I can offer my bags at these prices.

Barbara made me a beautifully crafted phone pouch, to a pattern we worked out together, as I had very specific requirements. She was generous with her time and expertise in helping me come to a final design, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the result. The item arrived quickly.
