An alternative is to measure a well fitting garment. I measure in inches, laid flat and then double it , except length. I try to mention if the fabric stretches and if it is meant to be worn loose. If you are a vintage clothing veteran you know its very rare to find a vintage piece that is absolutely 100% perfect, slight signs of age ( fading, loose threads, tiny snag)are part of the allure of knowing a woman 60 years ago felt beautiful wearing this garment! That being said, I always look at a garment with a critical eye and ask, would I wear this? Stains, tears, holes, will always be pointed out, However,I may miss a small imperfection here and there, however this is not purposeful and I would never try to deceive a customer. I want satisfied customers!

Not sure how to care for your vintage garment? I always launder anything I think is washable, before listing. I wash sturdy items on delicate in a front loader with all natural detergent, pre-spotting if necessary. I also hang to dry, never use the dryer! Delicate items are hand washed, soaked and laid flat to dry. If I feel it is dry clean only, I will dry clean, if it has a smell or is soiled. My items will come to you ready to wear. I do not sell dirty garments.
