"The pattern starts out really strong with stitch counts, but they stop as you get towards the end. With other patterns I've gotten where you're working in the round, if they start off with a stitch count, it continues through the pattern. Stitch counts are especially helpful when you have to chain a certain amount in order to make the ear holes.
This is also the first pattern I've ever worked where your ch3 counts as a stitch. This was extremely confusing. That's not to say that there aren't other patterns that do that, but I had to 'unlearn' the way I've been doing it for years to complete this pattern.
That being said, I did like the end result. My dog is a strange breed, so the sizing chart didn't work for her--but the hat really is easy to work up once you get used to the pattern, and I was able to make a size that works."
