My work is a series of snap shots of how I view the ups and downs of life, by observing everyday happenings that make me smile. I try to create a sense of autobiography, recording stories, feelings, emotions and moments in time. My family and friends are constantly a source of inspiration.I started my textile journey when I studied at university on an applied arts degree, since i graduated I exhibit my original art work at exhibitions and decided to open an Etsy shop to experiment with other products .Embedded in my work is the aim of increasing the awareness about the use of contemporary textiles in telling these stories. All my original artwork is designed to arouse discussion and invite interaction with the audience whilst showing the importance of building relationships through the generations. My pieces start with a saying, an overheard conversation or observation, every picture has it's own story. I hope the little stories behind each piece makes you smile as well.I use a combination of free machine embroidery, applique and screen print in my work. The fabrics I use are an eclectic mix of found , vintage and recycled fabrics. I love to use fabrics in unusual combinations and give them a new life.
