Marg Dier's Profile

About

I started my career at The Royal School of Needlework where I was accepted on to their 3 year embroidery apprenticeship. I studied all types of hand embroidery to produce a large portfolio of specialist techniques. I have worked on many amazing commissions including shoes for pop stars and The Duchess of Cambridge's wedding dress.
I now work for the school on a part time basis and spend the rest of the time designing and embroidering my own range of bespoke jewellery. I use luxury silks , vintage glass beads and space dyed cottons to make original pieces.
I am now writing a book to be published in 2018 about thread painting embroidery. Also known as silk shading so I am not accepting custom work at the moment.
