About AChanceToLive

Sales 145
On Etsy since 2020

My dad's parents both worked in the sewing industry. His father as a tailor, his mother as a seamstress. My dad taught me to hand sew the ribbons onto my pointe shoes, helped me make costumes for performances.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, we were made homeless. And whilst I was living in my tent, I had access to my sewing machine and my fabric supplies still. And making masks soothed my anxiety, so, I decided that what I wanted to do with the masks I was churning out was to donate them to other homeless people and rough sleepers. But I needed a way to fund and sustain this and so I decided to sell the masks I have already made and for every mask I sell, I make (at least) one to donate.

I believe everybody deserves a chance to live safely. I believe you shouldn't have to pay for the items you need for basic survival - especially when you can't afford them.

Whilst I haven't been updating the shop, I am still making masks - please contact me if you are interested in other patterns.
