Artista desde o nascimento, a instrução formal de Hélia está dentro da mídia tradicional de 2 dimensões, particularmente a pintura. No entanto, um impulso para criar levou-a a uma vida cheia de beleza em muitas, muitas formas. Uma visita formativa à Winchester Mystery House em San Jose em 2018 foi o que provocou sua imersão total no mundo dos vitrais. Ela trabalha com vidro desde então, tendo ido em tempo integral para si e sua loja, Altered Light Design, em 2020, no início da pandemia de COVID.
Ela trabalha feliz fora de sua casa na Califórnia Central, onde atualmente vive com seu parceiro Cody, dois cães e dois gatos. Como uma sobrevivente complexa do transtorno de estresse pós-traumático, Helia se orgulha de canalizar a atenção constante e a atenção plena necessárias para funcionar na vida diária de uma maneira que traga luz e beleza para aqueles ao seu redor nos próximos anos.
Seu objetivo atual é passar do aluguel para o proprietário da casa, tendo obtido a propriedade com seu cônjuge em meados de 2022. Cada compra vai para ajudá-la a construir o estúdio, a casa e o jardim de seus sonhos (modestamente, é claro).
An artist since birth, Helia’s formal instruction lies within traditional 2 Dimensional media, particularly painting. However, an impulse to create has led her to a life filled with beauty in many, many forms. A formative visit to the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose in 2018 is what sparked her total immersion into the world of stained glass. She has been working in glass ever since, having gone full-time for herself and her shop, Altered Light Design, in 2020 towards the start of the COVID pandemic.
She works happily out of her home in Central California, where she currently lives with her partner Cody, two dogs and two cats. As a Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Survivor, Helia takes pride in channeling the constant attention and mindfulness required to function in daily life in a way that brings light and beauty to those around her for years to come.
Her current goal is to move from renting to home owner, having obtained property with her spouse in mid 2022. Every purchase goes to helping her build the studio, home and garden of her dreams (modestly, of course).
