Inspired by living on Phi Phi Island in Thailand..
I graduated from London College of Fashion. After working for many designers and creating my own fashion show, I decided to travel.
Surprisingly, Phi Phi Island in Thailand turned out to be my base for the following 10 years.
I sourced production and fabrics in Bangkok and created my label AmberRoux.
I opened my own shop on Phi Phi selling to tourists from around the world.
Each piece in my shop was designed, pattern-cut and handmade myself. My experience during this time gave me the assurance that AmberRoux could be sold on a wider scale online.
I have returned to live in England now to expand my design range.
Living the Thai way of life for so long combined with my previous experience of fashion in London is an exciting and dramatic mix of culture which I reflect in my fabric choice and design.
Sustainability and fair fashion ethics are the focus of AmberRoux moving forward as the impact of fast-fashion is devastating for our world which I have witnessed in Asia.
I implement small batch designs re-purposing deadstock fabrics creating unique pieces that I have designed myself.
I would like to highlight ‘Who made your clothes?’ so every customer can see my production process from the sketch to the dress.
I lived in Phi Phi Island for 10 years with my own shop selling many different designs. Here is a selection of my best selling pieces. Each piece has been designed, pattern-cut and sewn myself, unique for AmberRoux. x
