Eco-friendly gifts and accessories designed and made in Scotland by Anne Omand for Country Bazaar. Here you will find distinctive and quirky gifts and accessories skilfully made using quality natural materials that are ethically produced. I also use my own collection of vintage fabrics, buttons and embellishments to add to my designs. One of my favourite things is to felt once loved, but now unwanted sweaters, and turn them into other useful items such as brooches, bags and cushions.
Many of my designs are one-offs and will not be repeated; those that are not are made in very limited quantities.

I also have a very recently opened Vintage store stocked with studio pottery and other interesting finds:

About

Natural, Ethical Gifts and Accessories.

The name Country Bazaar comes from the title of a vintage 70s book of handicrafts that I've had for many years.

I love to work with natural materials, especially wool and Harris Tweed, reflecting my Scottish heritage.

It is very important to me that the fabrics I use are natural and sustainable as well as being gentle and kind to the people who produce them, and our environment. I, therefore source organic/fair-trade fabrics such as cotton and linen. Vintage fabrics from the 50's through the 90's are used in my designs as well as re-purposed and reclaimed items of clothing such as woollen sweaters and jeans.

I learned to knit at around the age of six and have never stopped really. The yarns I use are heritage Scottish wools and naturally dyed where possible. If I use more commercial yarns I ensure that they are 100% natural and made in an ethical way.

Having been one of over a thousand stitchers who worked on The Great Tapestry of Scotland in 2013, I have rekindled my love of hand embroidery and fabric art. As a result I have introduced more of this into my work more recently.

I have recently opened another Etsy store and I will be adding vintage gems over the coming months so please add my shop to your favourites or follow me for updates if this would be of interest to you https://etsy.com/uk/shop/vintagecountrybazaar
