Hello and welcome to my little Etsy shop! My name is Lucia and I am an artist/illustrator living on the Devon / Cornwall border in the South West of England.
Painting and drawing has always been a passion of mine (my mum never fails to remind me how I was found happily drawing squiggles in felt tip across her brand new beige sofas when I was about 3 years old!) and I am lucky enough to be able to draw inspiration from the beautiful countryside and wildlife that surrounds me here in Broadwoodwidger.
Last year, during Furlough from my job I picked up my grandma's old watercolour set and started painting again. Within a couple of months I had created over 50 funny little animals and started turning them into homemade cards and prints - sending them to family and friends to cheer them up and make them smile during the Covid lockdowns. My husband then kindly built me a website (www.artbylucia.co.uk) and after much support I decided to open this Etsy shop. I have since found a wonderful local printers (Southgate Studios, Launceston) who now professionally print all of my cards and prints and I'm pleased to say that this teeny tiny little business has fast become my happiest venture ever! :)
My artwork is fun, friendly and colourful and I try to give each character their individual quirky personality, a little gleam in their eyes and a fun pun (sorry!) title name! All my artwork is created by myself, painted in watercolour and then sketched over by hand using pen and ink. I also try to be as environmentally conscious as possible - using recycled paper and envelopes, with compostable packaging wherever possible.

Hi, I'm Lucia!
My Name's Lucia and I live on the border of Devon and Cornwall, England with my Husband Mark and Labrador Molly. Painting and drawing has always been a passion of mine and I draw inspiration from the beautiful countryside and wildlife that surrounds me. I've also spent time living by the sea in Cornwall so enjoy painting sea creatures that I imagine living in the ocean. My artwork is friendly, fun and colourful and I try to give each character their individual quirky personality.
