About BangBangCrash

BangBangCrash was born out of a need for more fun clothes for grown-ups!

Handmade in our Bristol studio – We create quality clothing and accessories, designed to make sure you look great and feel amazing – for adventurers and eccentrics, performers and gymnasts, festival folk and party people!

We practice ethical, sustainable garment manufacturing, using recycled fabrics and low-impact production methods wherever possible. Each item is carefully made in a happy environment from quality materials by expert designers.

All our digitally printed spandex products are now manufactured using eco-spandex. This amazing new fabric is created from 80% post-consumer waste. Many years, and millions of pounds in development, this fabric takes end-of-life fishing nets that would otherwise be sent to landfill, or discarded in the oceans damaging natural habitats, and turns it into fabric. According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), there are currently more than 640,000 tons of abandoned fishing nets in the oceans. The nylon-made nets float in the ocean leading to micro-shredding, and injuring wildlife such as dolphins and turtles who get caught in the finishing nets as they drift. These discarded nets are collected and re-purposed into a delicate nylon yarn. This yarn is then intricately knitted into to create the eco-spandex, a luxurious fabric that is soft, stretchy and durable. The wonderful thing about this regeneration process is that it is infinite. At the end of a garments life it can again be re-cycled and re-regenerated, enabling savings to our natural resources as no new polyamide fabrics are needed to create it.

This innovative fabric is produced close-to-home in Italy, and digitally printed within the UK. This is the most environmentally friendly method of printing, as no water is needed and minimal waste is produced.

Once the fabric reaches our UK studio all garments are created in-house, by our talented team of designers. We make items to-order so that we can minimise textile waste and ensure quality. All our scraps and off-cuts are collected for re-use and recycling. Larger scraps are given to local primary schools for use in craft projects. Smaller scraps are used for stuffing.

As a fashion manufacturer in a world of fast fashion, we believe in doing things differently. As new technology allows us to lessen our impact on our natural environments, we will embrace it at every turn. We will push for a more sustainable fashion world, and we will never sacrifice our ethics for the sake of profit.

If you’d like to get in touch about anything, please send us a message here on Etsy, or email at hello [!at], or catch us at one of our festival stalls in the summer!
