A pastry chef by day, secret crafter/creator/mess maker by night.

I started my shop after I got married. I planned 99% of it myself - from the flowers, invitations, decorations, dresses and catering (yes, I catered for my own wedding. I could tell you how but that's a whole other story!) In the process of all that, the hours scouring Pintrest and Etsy and countless wedding sites, I found that it was actually hard to find the stuff that I wanted. If you wanted a textbook 'rusticated' wedding with lace and hessian-wrapped jars and mismatched chairs then no problem. If you wanted to throw some unique and personal style in then it all got hard.

My job has always been a creative one. Im self-employed and I started Bethany Claire Cakes from the ground up 5 years ago. In many cases, its been an uphill battle. When you are small, even if you have the capacity to do big events,people don't trust it. They want the company that comes up first in google search, even if you pay through the nose and you are just a name on a page to them. But I have stuck at it and have met lots of awesome people, done heaps of great events and am having a blast.

But im crafty by nature, and one business is not enough. So my Etsy DIY store fulfills my love of creating and trying my hand at many things. And I hope in the process, it helps you find some well-priced, cool things with which you can do the same xxx

If i have left my order to the last minute, can you express ship it?

There is an option in the postage menu for express postage. Where possible, this option expedites your order past standard processing times and where plausible (depending on the size and shape of your item) includes express mail service. It is recommended that you contact us in advance to selecting this option to ensure that we can accommodate your order in the time frame in which you need it. In the event that your item does not arrive within the shipping agents time frame for express shipping, you may be able to claim a refund of shipping costs from the agent. This refund will be of the postage charges charged by the agent only, and will not include charges associated with expediting your order or packaging and handling costs.

What are processing times?

This is the average amount of time between when your payment clears to when it is sent out to you. This does not include the delivery time once it has been sent.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

I really want you to be happy with your purchase.
If you believe that the item you have received is not as described or there is some other issue, please let me know and i will do my best to resolve this.
There are, however, no refunds available if you simply change your mind. I am also unable to provide refund without the return of the total product in question.
Please also note that I am unable to refund any shipping costs.
In the event that you should change your mind before your order is sent, a 10% admin and restocking fee will be held back from your refund. Recent changes to PayPal policies also mean that any charges associated with your purchase will not be refunded.

Can a courier leave the parcel at my house?

Depending on which agent your parcel is sent with (this varies depending on your area), there may or may not be the option to mark your parcel with authority to leave. If you have a preference, please let us a note in the comment section before you check out.
Parcels marked with authority to leave at your request are considered delivered and we are unable to chase or replace these items in the event that they go missing.
If you require a signature on delivery option, you will need to select this upgrade when you check out - the charge associated with this is the cost that the courier has imposed.
Including your phone number when you checkout can greatly increase your chances of quickly receiving your items.

Why is the shipping cost so high?

Recently both Australia Post and Couriers Please have increased both their base shipping rates and their shipping terms and conditions.

We endeavour to maintain fair and reasonable shipping options despite these changes.

One notable change that has occurred is that all parcels sent by courier will be marked with Authority to Leave unless requested.
Couriers please has imposed a surcharge on parcels that require a signature. If you wish to request a signature on delivery for the parcel, you will need to select the upgrade.
Parcels that are marked with authority to leave are considered delivered and we are unable to chase these in the event that they go missing or are incorrectly delivered.

Can I pick up my order?

Yes! Use the coupon code LOCALPICKUP when you check out for free shipping. Normal 1-3 days processing times apply. You will be contacted when your order is ready for collection. If you require an after hours or rush pick up, a rush fee may apply.

Regional Orders

Please note that estimated delivery times are a general guideline provided by Australia Post that ma not be specific to your particular area. We are located in Melbourne, Australia and sometimes parcels take as long as 7-10 business days to reach rural areas, particularly the NT, parts of QLD and Northern WA. If you select express shipping, we will dispatch your order as quickly as possible however Express services may not be available for your area, or cost more than the items you are sending. We ask that you contact us prior to ordering if you require items in a tight time frame as there are no refunds for items that do not arrive by the day that you expect. We will not be held responsible for the service provide by mail carriers.
