My shop story

Hello, nice to see that you had stumbled on my shop!

My Name is Betul im the energy that runs this shop.
I started studying art in high school and moved on to take art as a part-time job/hobby and study product design at university. I started making comission drawings for people as soon as I finished highschool selling biro and watercolour portraites. I eventually was able to illustate books for children with Palm library LTD as part of this part-time job.

Soon enough I started to think about developing a style for my artwork and developing from biro pen portraites. I wanted to create a style that could tell a story and not look like every pen or pencil drawings.

I started to look into art styles first. i looked into artist that could inspire me that did doodling. I enjoyed how doodling involved only one pen or or some was all digital. doodling felt very minimilist. I am usually a very messy person and I have so much products in my room that I never use... almost like a horder. I realised that I was doing so many things such as book illustration, studying product design, and watching Netfix (netflix is alot of work okay!). but i really wanted to do them all and freelance freelance and I thought that doodling would be best to fit my lifestyle.

So i looked into artist that use only one pen. comics, doodlers, manga, product designers and cross hatchers. H tried out their styles and eventually found a mix of all created a very interesting style. I found out loosing cross hatching created nice doodles but it looked like comics. I later looked into this style and started to draw people on the tube on my way to work and back when I was doing my internship on my long hour trips. I started to improve the style. I also practiced drawing animals and movie characters in my sketchbook. when i was happy with the style I joined French girls APP and started to draw people for practice until i realised people wanted to pay me for drawing them in this style. I posted some of these drawings on my social media and got friends and followers requesting in this style.

However I realised I was missing the story telling element. I was always interested in consparicy theory stories. some I believed in and some I didn't, but they all had a very interesting concept and story with them. So i decided to illustrate some of these stories. Some of them would tell a serious story and message about unity, future technology and waste. Some of them are science fiction and fantasy.

Taking the skills I took from my story book illustrations I decided to create artwork that tell these consparicy stories in with my style. I started making the drawings in my sketchbook and then decided to scan them and draw them digitally.

When my confidnce was finaly gained I started to upload drawings in this style here.
