Note from shop owner I have been away on holiday and due to other booked commissions, I will not be able to begin new commissions until August. I will be leaving my shop on holiday mode for awhile in order to allow me to de-stress and catch up on work.

Please do message me however to discuss and plan any custom orders you would like to purchase, and I can prep for it for when I get back into the workshop.

I look forward to discussing what I can do for you when I get back :-)
Thank you for your patience

About

Art is not simply a hobby, but an essential part of my life. I create because I must.

Claire Watson, the self-taught artist behind Blue Kitty Creations,
strives to create unique and beautiful pieces inspired from nature, her life, and imagination. From an early age, Claire was always creating something, whether it was sketching, origami, painting, or trying out her wood carving abilities on the family piano.

American by birth and Scandinavian by heart,
Claire has experienced a plethora of homes, schools,
and peoples across the globe. Following her parents during
their military career, it became the normal routine to move house
every couple of years, and in an ever changing life her art was a constant.
She loves living in Scotland with the dramatic landscapes and the even more dramatic and varied accents. With the close historical ties between Scotland and Scandinavia, she never feels too far from home.
Currently residing in Scotland, Claire’s artistic style and interests continue to evolve in the way of sketches, photography, painting, photo-manipulation, textiles, and jewellery making.

Her passion for jewellery was first sparked when she attended a medieval workshop, run by a Viking no less! He demonstrated an old Viking technique used for making chain necklaces. Referred to as Viking Knit, or Trichinopoly, she loved weaving together wire and started thinking of new ideas and new colours to bring it into the modern day world. She continues to teach herself new techniques for her paintings and silversmithing.

Her artwork has been described as dynamic, refreshing, intriguing and at times challenging and thought provoking.

Her bold use of striking colour schemes and flowing forms instill in the viewer responses from the serene to the invigorating.
