About

Choose Joy

Real flower jewellery, dandelion jewellery, driftwood, garden birds, bubbles and rainbows... these are the things that fill our corner of the internet.

I've always made stuff. Sticky back plastic and sea-shells and glitter and words and paint splashes, scraps of fabric and pens that smell of fruit. And then I went to Bible College and went on a mission trip and met my wonderful-now-husband. I married my (American) wonderful-now-husband in America, and when we got back to the UK, we couldn't find work, so I went back to making stuff, hoping it would tide us over until we found Proper Jobs. But then, miraculously, it became our proper job and now we are happy, and busy and so very blessed!

We make real flower jewellery, dandelion jewellery, and nature-inspired jewellery, along with stationery (including our Box of Happy) and doodle-y things. We don't go out very much; we like each other's company ever so much. Also we like the local ducks who we feed most days, even during the winter which was ace as we assumed they'd fly south. We really try to make everything excellently: we want Buttonsy to be run with excellence, and we want to make things that make people smile.

Buttonsy jewellery is made for lovely women who love nature; they love wildflowers and natural light streaming through their windows; they look for shapes in clouds and sense the seasons changing days before anyone else; they wear flowers in their hair, go barefoot whenever they can and leave behind them a trail of joy and dandelion wishes...

I love dandelions. I recently did our weekly shop wearing a dandelion top and a dandelion scarf. I was, effectively, a giant walking dandelion. This makes me happy.

Find us on Facebook, Instagram, our blog and Pinterest. (Really mostly Facebook, IG and our blog. Pinterest makes me feel inadequate.)

Buttonsy started with a Bible verse: My beloved spoke and said to me "Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away. See, the winter is past, the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth, the season of singing has come..." (Song of Songs)

I'm wondering whether to leave that actual photo of my actual face there... if I leave it, it will show up on every listing meaning people will actually see it. My lovely husband says it's ok because I am wearing a cool hat.

Frequently asked questions

Most likely! Just send us a message and we'll chat about it.

We use real flowers, and they vary in size and shade so yours won't be exactly the same. We will never send a different colour, for example, but your flowers may be slightly lighter or darker. Also, different computer screens display colours differently. Handmade will always mean slight variances, but we do our best to make things as uniform as possible.

At the moment we aren't able to provide a gift-wrapping service, but every piece of Buttonsy comes in a Buttonsy gift box ready for gift-giving. We can also include a lovely handmade, handwritten real flower card with your order, there is a separate listing for that in our shop.

We do. Send us a message if you want to stock Buttonsy Jewellery.

♥ Try to keep your resin jewellery away from lotions and sprays such as suntan lotion or abrasive creams, as these can affect the finish of the resin.
♥ Our resin jewellery is some of the hardiest available, but try to avoid sharp, pointy things that could scratch the surface.
♥ Cleaning of resin jewellery is best with a soft, clean cloth.
♥ Store your resin jewellery out of direct sunlight, somewhere dry. Our resin is incredibly UV stable, but extended exposure to direct sunlight can eventually yellow resin.

We have pre-scheduled daily collections for post, and we use the Post Office's "Drop and Go" Service. We mark things as despatched as soon as they're collected from us and 9 times out of 10, parcels will start their journey on the same day, but using the service we do, there may be a delay from the time we mark it as despatched to when Royal Mail accept the parcel, and this is beyond our control.

We send all parcels - both domestic and international - recorded and/or tracked. If you are concerned about your parcel being delayed, please let us know and we'll give you your tracking number.

We are 100% responsible for damaged or missing parcels and will absolutely make sure that you receive your Buttonsy post safe and sound.

You're in luck! We despatch 90% of orders next working day (Monday to Friday) so if you need it by a certain date and you've ordered it enough time in advance, chances are it'll get to you in time. Once it's out of our hands, though, we don't have any control over how fast UK (or international) postal services go.

I apologise but we aren't able to offer that as a service. There are several resin artists who will make you something beautiful using your precious things, though, and we hope you find someone wonderful to work with.

Yes, we can. If you're looking for a cross, or something with a Bible verse, please do let us know if you're unable to cover the cost... you getting something that will encourage your faith is a priority for us, and payment isn't important.

For all other items, (for example, you want to buy bridal flower sets for the women who were involved in your wedding), we are very happy to receive payment in installments; we'll have a chat and agree the terms in advance. We'll create a set of reserved listings so you can pay as and when you can meaning there's no pressure on you. The order will be official and the jewellery will be made once payment has been made in full. Just send us a wee message and we'll have a natter about it all.

Yes! You very much can. We are here cheering you on, and we hope at least one magical thing happens for you today. Whether it's a stranger smiling at you or getting extra foam on your coffee; maybe your eyelashes look especially long today or you look up and see a cloud that looks like a dragon... we really hope something joyful happens for you today and that you can go to bed tonight knowing that you are going to be so very ok and that things get better.
