Love To Make

Since I was a little girl, I always had to be making.

My granny played a huge part in supporting, encouraging and teaching me early on. She taught me to knit, would happily sit with me colouring in. In later life she took on carpentry, mosaic art... A true legend and inspiration.

Life took me down different paths but once my children were grown and independent I returned to making. I now have a BA (Hons) in Painting from Edinburgh College of Art and I now teach art to others.

My artwork is mostly based on the natural world around me. Big skies, patterns in the landscape, texture and patina on decaying buildings... So many stories to tell.

I consider myself a painter and mixed media artist. Mixed media starts with paint then layers are applied, culminating in stitch. Thread is a lovely component, providing colour cohesion, texture and detail.

Happiest times are spent in my garden studio where I am kept company by Jet the cat and Cassie the Romanian Rescue Dog.

Frequently asked questions
How long will it take for my order to arrive in USA?

Right now there seems to be a lot of delays and sometimes it can take up to two weeks for a parcel to arrive. Each parcel is sent tracked so there is the ability to follow it once it has reached the USA.

Do you suggest the prints being mounted and can you advise on framing?

None of the reproduction prints come with either frame or mount allowing for personal taste. I always recommend a mount for the prints and most come with a margin allowing for mounting without losing any of the image. As for framing, simple is best but it really depends on where you are going to place the print and what other framing choices you have made before. Any good framer can advise but you also have the option of buying on-line. I am happy to advise on individual cases.
