5 out of 5 starsI'm not even sure how many of Richard's pieces I have now! This lovely little one (along with another piece) took some time to get here, but it is perfect, as usual. Poor Richard - he shipped this on 17 April, and it arrived at the very end of May. Blame it on Covid-19! (Packages from him usually take about ten days to get to me from the UK.) Anyway, it was well packed, so no worse for wear. Thank you again, Richard!

The view from my painting table in Jabba, my studio..
Some clay, some time and man who delights in old Welsh buildings ( and a few quirky variations).
I am Richard. I love to play with clay and take a delight in the traditional buildings that abound around my home in North Wales (and on my travels): the smallholdings and hill farms, the old mining villages, the towns and the harbours.
Each of my ceramic pieces is an individual: hand-built, fired, and then painted with a palette inspired by slate and stone, mosses, lichens, and the Welsh weather.
I feel blessed to live in such a beautiful place and have Jabba, my studio, just down the garden.
My kiln is small, but big enough and the view from my painting table is not toooo distracting.
There are only so many ways that a traditional Welsh building can work so some of my pieces may be quite similar but, thanks to the idiosyncrasies of the clay and the serendipitous gifts from the paints, no two are ever the same.

I believe there is already too much packaging flying around the planet that’s just used once and I don’t wish to add to that. All my packaging, save for a bit of tape and glue, is good and clean but doing its job for a least the second time. It may not be the prettiest I try to tread as lightly as I can. If you’d like it a little prettier, as a gift for someone, I do have recycled kraft card boxes available.
