Coast Jewellery - About us

Coast Jewellery creates individual, handmade, high quality, sterling silver necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings featuring natural gemstones and real Seaham sea glass.

We have spent many years in retail and work very hard to provide a high standard of customer service. We personally choose all the gemstones and sea glass used in our designs to ensure quality and consistency.

Welcome to Coast Jewellery. We make all our jewellery using 925 sterling silver and real gemstones only sourced from UK reputable stone merchants.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalised orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
  • Items on sale

Returns and exchange details
It is extremely important to us that you are 100% satisfied with your purchase and if for any reason that is not the case, please contact us before leaving a review and will do our very best to address any concerns you may have.

If you wish to return an item, we are happy to refund the price of the item, minus the original shipping cost. We must receive the item back in its original packaging and unworn condition within 14 days of the original dispatch date, 21 days for international orders. Returns received outside these dates will not be accepted.
For hygiene reasons this policy does not apply to earrings. We cannot accept liability for any items that are lost in transit. We therefore advise that you use an appropriate / tracked postal service to return your order. Please also ensure that your return postal address is clearly marked on the back of the packet.
Returned International orders must clearly state 'RETURN' on the front of the outer packaging.

If you wish to exchange an item, the original order must be returned to us with its original packaging and unworn condition within 14 days of the original dispatch date, 21 days for international orders. We will then dispatch your new order and charge you the difference in order value plus return shipping.

For all returns or exchanges please contact us prior to shipping. We reserve the right to charge a re-stocking or handling fee for items received, which do not adhere to these terms & conditions. Unauthorised returns will not be accepted and any additional costs imposed by the postal service due to incorrect stamps / labels being used will be deducted from the original purchase value / refund due. The cost of return shipping is the buyers responsibility.

It is the buyers responsibility to collect or re-arrange any undelivered items from their local sorting office. Items returned to us through non-delivery, will be classed as unauthorised and subject to re-stocking / handling fees. Original P&P costs will not be refunded.

Our jewellery is handmade to the highest standards. Over time natural wear will occur e.g scratches, wear/friction marks in line with frequency of use. We will not replace or refund any item that has incurred natural wear, accidental damage or if the item has been altered in any way.

Damage incurred due to faulty workmanship within 3 months of the original purchase date will be repaired free of charge. We reserve the right to replace any such items with a suitable alternative if the original item cannot be repaired. In all cases the items(s) will need to be returned to us and we will advise you of the repair / replacement procedure.
Payment
We accept Paypal, and all major credit cards. We cannot dispatch your item(s) until full payment has been received. If payment made through Paypal or credit card is declined, the order will be cancelled and the item will be re listed..
Delivery
We normally dispatch within 2-3 working days of receiving your order. Special commissions and made to order items e.g rings take slightly longer, 3 -5 working days.
UK standard delivery time from dispatch is usually within 2-3 working days.
RM Special Delivery is offered as an upgrade for UK orders and is a tracked next working day delivery service

US and European deliveries normally take 7-10 working days but may take longer due to customs / importation procedures. Please note that from January 2018, all overseas deliveries will be sent using a tracked service. Any customs and duty fees incurred due to international shipping are the responsibility of the buyer.

It is the buyers responsibility to ensure the delivery address provided is correct. We cannot accept any liability for delayed, lost or undelivered items due to incorrect or incomplete information. Please also note we will only dispatch to the buyers registered Etsy account address.

Your order will require a signature on delivery. If you are not available, then your order will be held by your local sorting office and a delivery card will give instructions on how to collect or re-arrange delivery. Please note that there is a limited time-frame for doing this and any uncollected orders will be returned. Any postal or importation fees charged to us as a result of this happening will be deducted from the original purchase price.

If you have not received your delivery within 21 working days of receiving a dispatch notification then please let us know immediately. We are unable to process or investigate any claim of non-delivery, 45 days after dispatch.
Additional policies and FAQs
Packaging - we keep our packaging to a minimum to avoid unnecessary waste and keep postal costs low. All items are however dispatched in Coast Jewellery gift box.

Selecting the Etsy 'Marked as Gift' option removes pricing information from the order confirmation and allows you to include a gift message. It does not include a gift wrapping service.

Articles below a certain weight are exempt from UK hallmarking. The exemption
weight is based on the weight of the precious metal in the article, excluding stones etc. For silver this weight is 7.78g and therefore only items above this weight sold in the UK will carry our hallmark / silver stamp.
