5 out of 5 starsI love this design, I think it’s definitely more difficult than the 1.0, the oval base is tricky, so is the angled zipper, but it is soooo worth it! I just completed my second one, and I don’t think it’ll be my last!

4 out of 5 starsGood looking purse. Only I wish the two zippers would be one connected somehow. I may hack that myself by connecting a pull so that both sides open together with one pull somehow?

My bags are made on my Bernina 930 domestic sewing machine. I design my patterns to be suitable for domestic machines
Bags don't have to be boring
I got in to leather work after my husband decided it would be a good idea to make each other's anniversary gifts one year. I'd forever been searching for a bag that I really liked so he decided to make me one and after that I couldn't help joining in. It soon became my favourite hobby and after creating bags for family and friends I decided I'd like to pursue this further and set up my Etsy shop. Nowadays I work with fabric more than leather and in 2020 began producing my own bag patterns.
My bag patterns are step by step guides with loads of photos to help ensure you can make a great bag! Most of my patterns have a free video tutorial available. The patterns tell you what materials you need and include printable pattern pieces for ALL of the pattern pieces including rectangles. There's also a handy cutting chart that you can use if you want to save on printing.
My patterns never have raw edges - this allows you to use any material you like provided you’re using the correct interfacing and your sewing machine can handle it!
I love being creative and designing patterns gives me the perfect opportunity.
Being raised in Cornwall has helped fuel my desire to be creative and surrounds me with arty influences.
I'm always looking for new and unique design ideas and hope to continue bringing you fabulous new patterns to try!

Frequently asked questions
Why am I being charged VAT?
Etsy is required to charge VAT on digital items in many countries. Check out their help section for more information.
How do I download my pattern?
After purchasing a PDF pattern, you will receive a download link by email. You can also download your pattern from your Etsy account, if you have one.
Most of my patterns include 3 files. 1 is the instruction file, the remaining 2 are the pattern pieces to print. These are provided in both A4 and “letter” paper sizes to ensure that they print accurately no matter what paper you use.
Make sure you are using the correct file for the paper used in your country: The USA & Canada: “letter” size paper (8.5” x 11”) The rest of the world: A4 paper (210mm x 297mm).
I recommend downloading your pattern on a desktop PC or laptop as many experience problems when downloading on a mobile device or tablet.
Do you sell paper patterns?
Unfortunately I do not. As I sell patterns across the globe, it's not practical sell paper copies. However, there should be online printing services that will be happy to print the pattern for you in your area.
How do I print the PDF pattern?
I recommend using Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader to open your PDF files. When printing, select to print at “actual size” or 100% with “no scaling”.
Before cutting out your pattern pieces, check that each piece matches the measurement stated on the piece, as well as checking the test square. If you don’t have access to a printer, you can get the files printed at a local print shop or by using an online printing service.
I haven't received my download email
If you haven’t received the download, first check your junk email box. If you can’t find the email there, please contact me at countrycowdesigns@gmail.com. I will respond within 12 hours.
Please let me know which pattern you purchased, the date you purchased it, and the email address used. This will help me locate your purchase quickly so I can re-send the pattern files.
Pattern distribution
My patterns are for your personal use only. Please do not distribute them, share them with your friends, or sell them to others. It is illegal for you to do so. You should not copy my patterns in part or in whole and pass them off as yours.
Can I sell bags made with your patterns?
Yes you can! The only limitation is that you must be making them on a home-based scale, not large scale production. You don’t need to reference Country Cow Designs or give me credit when selling your bags.
Where can I get help and support?
If you’re struggling with one of my patterns, feel free to email me at countrycowdesigns@gmail.com. Most of my patterns also have free video tutorials that can be found on my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBjEGIbO-woymK6bCNUNOpw
Or you can join the Country Cow Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2527268087389877/?source_id=504058550332076. This is great for finding inspiration and new ideas and sharing photos of your own bags made with my patterns.
Can I teach with your patterns?
You cannot teach workshops or lessons using my patterns, without my consent. Please contact me at countrycowdesigns@gmail.com. Each member of the class needs to buy the pattern, you cannot simply use your copy of the pattern to teach an entire class. I am happy to provide a discount depending on the number of pupils attending the class so please contact me concerning this.
I thought I was buying a paper pattern, can I get a refund?
I try to make it very clear that all my patterns are PDF, not paper. As digital items cannot be returned once delivered, I cannot issue refunds.
