The love of creation is my driving force
I had just finished my MA in Secondary Education and was between jobs, in an effort to occupy my time, I started researching beading. I bought my first bead kit and well, the rest is history. Over the past few years, I have indulged myself in all things bead related. I began to master the various bead stitches and this led to joining the Etsy Beadweavers Team and being inspired to create my own designs. I have also recently joined the Northern Virginia Bead Society in order to really grow artistically as well as share my passion of beading and creating jewelry with others.
In addition to beads, I also work with clay, metal, fabric and pretty much any material that I deem usable in my pieces.
Prior to starting a project, I will sometimes sketch my initial idea, but most times, I just free style my design. The Rock-n-Roll, Serene Garden and Abstract Floral Vine bracelets featured on this page are free styled. I normally will pick a series of colors and I may use them all or just a selection of them depending on how the piece comes together.
My design ideas come from many sources; nature, shapes, feelings, art, etc.
Ultimately, I understand that art is subjective, therefore, my pieces are quite unique to my personal likes but I am always open to create customised pieces for clients.
The opening of my Etsy shop has enabled me to display my jewelry and my patterns on an international platform and it has also allowed me to meet and be inspired by many great artists.
