The timeless allure of black and white meets dramatic tonal effects...

I take my camera with me everywhere and I love travel and visiting new places. I am particularly drawn to the timeless allure of black and white photography and the sense of 'stepping back in time'.

The story of Vivian Maier was a huge inspiration, and closer to home, Margaret Watkins. My auntie Betty was a keen photographer too and I have recently taken possession of her original Kodak slides - priceless.

I have a selection of vintage cameras such as a Leica circa WW2, an Olympus OM-1 and a beautifully reconditioned Hasselblad. I can't wait to experiment further with these cameras and have dabbled with dark-room film processing - that's where the real magic happens.

I blog about my creative work and design process at www.daintydora.co.uk and my writing at www.rebeccajohnstone.com.

Recent additions include:

- 'pattern bomb' prints marrying my local black and white street scenes with my unique surface pattern designs
- digital downloads which provide more flexibility for creative application
- inspirational prints to spread the love

Sharing my images and my perspectives is a privilege on my creative journey.

Thanks for taking the time to browse my shop,

Rebecca aka Dainty Dora (because I'm not 'dainty' and my name's not Dora...)
