Silk is a strong, durable and luxurious fabric, and NOT EXPENSIVE in my shop Everything is amazingly good value, considering the craftsmanship, time and care that goes into each UNIQUE piece.

The items I have for sale on here are just a small representation of the items available to purchase, so if you wish to receive an up to date list of these items with prices and details of how to order, please contact me either through the messaging system on here, or go to my website www.dianeshawsilks.co.uk where you will find more information.
Please note that as of July 1, 2021, Etsy also collects VAT from EU buyers when they receive a shipment from the UK if the value of the package (excluding delivery and taxes) is less than or equal to €150. This is added at point of sale and is not included in the prices on here.
Customs duty may also apply to items priced over €150 shipping to the EU, this amount will be assessed at the point of entry of the destination country. This may result in the buyer having to pay additional charges which are not included in the total price at checkout.
From 30 July 2019 my prices increased slightly to take into account Etsy's new policy of 'Free Shipping', which really means 'Shipping Included'. My incredibly good value prices have therefore stayed the same, but now just include the shipping cost.

I trained as a bespoke silk lampshade maker with a major British company supplying international designers. I 'upcycle' the gorgeous silk remnants, weave my own original pieces, add embroidery and other embellishments to make luxurious one-off items.
Shop policies
All items are individually handmade by me in my workshop in West Sussex, England to the highest standard of workmanship, using only the finest silk fabrics, silk threads and trimmings. All are one-off items which will not be duplicated.
I trained as a maker of bespoke silk lampshades at the excellent 'Shade Above' workshop in Brighton, an established company who supply top international designers. By 'upcycling' the gorgeous silk remnants of this trade I have created a unique collection of pieces inspired by the shapes and colours of the individual fabric pieces themselves and to which I have added my own original hand woven silk fabric pieces, silk embroidery and other embellishments.
I am a designer-maker listed in the Homes and Gardens Magazine and UKHandmade Directories, I have also been featured in the UKHandmade Designer Maker Showcase. I accept both private and trade commissions, and have completed several projects for the prestigious London embroidery company Hawthorne & Heaney to create bespoke pieces, most recently for London Fashion Week.
