Affordable quality vintage and classic clothing & accessories for gentlemen and women. Vintage and antique clothing revival, steampunk, theatrical costume & fashion. Victorian to 1980s.

As a little girl I had every intention on becoming either a fashion or costume designer when I grew up. All my school books were covered in fashion illustrations all along the borders - then many years later after art college I used to trawl flea markets, fairs and auction house for all things vintage and Victorian to wear for my self.

I had so many Victorian clothes I began to organise costume events to share my passion and get more opportunity to dress up.

Now many moons later, I decided to start selling some of my collection and make it my full time job, so I still get to hunt for lovely items but I can also share my finds with you. And as for selling my Victorian collection - ahem - I promise I will get round to listing all that I have one of these days.

Suffice to say, I love vintage and antique costume and I hope you love what I have gathered.

Vintage clothes are secondhand and over 20 years old, antique are over 100 years old. My clothes will have been worn by someone at some point unless they are deadstock, which are unused old stock perhap still with the original shop tags. I do not make these items, they are originals from the period mentioned in the listing.

The Etsy showcase is a tiny percentage of what we hold in stock so if you are hunting for anything specific do get in touch as you never know, I might just have one stashed away in your size!

I do love all of my items and try to stock very good condition, if it has any flaws I will do my best to represent - please read my condition guide so you are aware of the categories and what they mean.

Measuring, I measure the garment laid flat edge to absolute edge then double, which give the maximum, you will need to measure your own clothes to compare sizing.

Returns and exchange details
Unworn items can be returned for a, refund, or store credit, store credits can also be used at our flagship store, Topnotchvintage.co.uk. Please contact us within 3 days of original delivery, item must be shipped with tracking and insurance to the value of the item at cost to buyer, within 7 days of original delivery. Package must be double bagged securely.

Customs charge are not collected by or refunded by us.

Refund will be minus original shipping costs plus a 10% restocking fee.

If we allow a return after 7 days then a rental fee (3% per day beginning on 8th day, ending when return reaches us) is deducted from credit.

Layaway purchases (including items held for 10 days or more while awaiting payment) can be returned for store credit minus a 20% return fee. Exchange credits are not applicable to existing layaway and can not be used on other discounted or Sale items, exchange credit cannot be used to pay the shipping cost of an item sent in exchange, that shipping will be billed separately.
No purchase is eligible for a cash refund.

If an item has been worn or damaged by the customer and have diminished the value of the goods by handling them beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and function, then a deduction for diminishing the value of the item will be made.

Once it is agreed that you can return the item: Please package the item well ensuring it is waterproof and in packaging which is fit for transit to ensure the item does not get damaged during shipping (i.e. do not over-stuff envelopes/boxes or used well-worn recycled packaging materials). Double bag where possible. Please ensure YOUR name and address is also on the package in case the package gets misplaced during transit and cannot be forwarded to me. If the package is returned to you because of a mistake made by you with regard to addressing the package or incorrect completion of a customs form or your country's postal service fault then you must resend at your expense. If the package gets returned due to a mistake or problem at my end (i.e. either I or Royal Mail is at fault) then I will pay to have the item resent.

If you wish to return an item from a country outside of the European Union, please note that you MUST complete a customs declaration indicating that the package contains "RETURNED GOODS" (as well as stating "used clothing", "used jewellery", etc). If you fail to do this, I unable to accept any import charges or taxes incurred in order for the package to reach me.

FOOTWEAR AND HATS: I do not accept any returns on these items as they are notoriously impossible to give extremely accurate measurements in the crucial areas such as the height of the foot arch which is never the same on any two people. Footwear and hats are purchased at the buyer’s risk.

ADDITION NOTES ABOUT VINTAGE FOOTWEAR: footwear manufactured in the period up until the 1970s which are made from man-made materials have what is called an “inherent vice” i.e. a flaw which worsens over the passage of time. As the soles are glued rather than stitched, the glue used to adhere the soles to the uppers degenerates to a powder as they age meaning the soles will most likely come away from the uppers after one or a few wears. I recommend therefore that the buyer takes precautionary action by having the soles RE-GLUED prior to wearing. I do not accept returns on vintage footwear which has this inherent vice.

Shipping is always by Royal Mail Special Delivery or Signed For post. International orders are always sent by Royal Mail with tracking and/or signature required.

Payment is to be made within 3 days unless otherwise agreed, and prior to dispatch. If payment has not been made within the agreed period then the transaction will be deemed cancelled and the item will be relisted.


Colour Disclaimer
We have done our best to describe the colours and shades of the fabric, clothes and products listed here, but because monitors vary in the display of colour differently and some descriptive terms used for shades of colour can be perceived and interpreted differently, depending on the viewer, we cannot be held responsible if you receive something and the colour doesn't look how you envisioned it would.

Online shopping does create challenges in this respect, so if you have your heart set on a very specific type of colour or shade, in order to avoid disappointment, please contact us first so we can try and provide more information regarding the item you're interested in. We do not offer refunds for differing colour perceptions.


All items will be sold As Is. Items are not cleaned unless otherwise noted.

We describe these items to the best of our ability. We check each item carefully and will try to list any notable flaws. These are vintage items and wear consistent with age is normal and should be expected.

Items may be larger or smaller than my mannequin or model and may be clipped or pinned to show fit.


In our opinion, has not been worn. – mint condition – as new and may even still have original labels or may be in original packaging These items will not be unpacked or washed as it would compromise their originality, therefore they may be fusty or marked from being stored for a long time.
Vintage garment possibly in original packaging, never used. These items may have fading, staining or other issues from years of storage.


The item has been worn but is in a perfect or near perfect vintage condition.


Worn, with some general, but minimal signs of wear.

4. GOOD :

Will show signs of wear possibly needing a small repair or missing a button.

5. WORN :

Well worn with signs of wear such as a tear, several missing buttons or areas of staining.

6. POOR :

Not fit for wear, but a useful item for research or display.
POSTAGE AND SHIPPING: Domestic UK deliveries are normally by Royal Mail 'Signed For' and 'Recorded Delivery' services. However, from time to time I may need to used another courier service and the customer will be notified if that is the case. Overseas shipping is by a fully tracked and insured service only. I do not send any items, unless they are of a value under £25, by untracked services for my safety and yours.

DELIVERY TIMES: Items are sent out within 5 working days. However you can specify on your order if you need an item to be despatched quicker and I will reply informing you if that is possible. However, if you need an item quickly I recommend you contact me before purchasing.

Items must be shipped to the address on file. We cannot alter a shipping address after a purchase has been made.

Any packages returned due to wrong or incorrect addresses will be reshipped at the cost of purchaser.

Do you need insurance, signature confirmation, or express shipping? Please, contact us prior to purchase! We are happy to work with your needs, but we are unable to alter shipping options after a purchase has been made.

We maintain the right to add signature confirmation or insurance to any purchase.

If an item is returned to us by the post office for any reason, other than our mistake, the purchaser is responsible for the original shipping cost plus any additional shipping charges to resend the order. We will contact the buyer when we receive the item, if the return shipping payment is not received within 10 days of contact both the item and purchase price are forfeit.

DillyDandy is not responsible for lost, stolen or undelivered packages. All lost, stolen, and undelivered packages without insurance are on the responsibility of the buyer.

We are unable to replace or reship items purchased without insurance.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMS AND IMPORT DUTY, TAXES, ETC. The buyer is liable for any taxes, import duty or other related charges when purchasing an item from abroad which is taxable. Vintage clothing is taxable and the rate of taxation is determined by the item and the rate set by each country's government. I will under no circumstances devalue and item on the Customs Declaration form (CN 22).
All international packages will be shipped Royal Mail or ParcelForce Tracked and Signed For, it takes 10-45 business days depending on customs processing times and tracking information is not always available depending on the country.

If you feel your package is late, please check with your customs department, they may be holding the package.

We cannot be held accountable for items lost during shipment or detained in customs.
Additional policies and FAQs
All items I sell are either vintage or antique. I have been careful to note any age marks, flaws, damage etc. in the item descriptions, but items are sold as seen.

Should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me.

Vintage clothing is 20 years old or older and is therefore expected to have been worn and show some signs of its age and use. I list all marks and faults as I notice them, but there may be something subtle that I have missed, if so please forgive me. Mostly my items are in very good-excellent condition and wearable.

CUSTOMS CHARGES, IMPORT DUTY AND TAXES (INC. VAT) - These are all chargeable fees imposed by your government (the country you are importing into) which are beyond a seller’s control. The buyer is liable for any or all of these charges when importing goods from abroad. These charges are nothing to do with the seller, they are not part of the transaction with the seller and cannot be estimated or calculated by the seller. Most countries do provide a guide to importing goods and related taxes on official websites. Buyers are advised to check their tax liability before purchasing an item from abroad.

CONTROLLED GOODS - many countries have a list of controlled goods which generally includes any animal product as part of whole of a garment such as fur, animal skins, leather and ivory. This list is not exhaustible and you are advised to check with your country's official guide as to import restrictions. It is the duty of the buyer to check the controlled goods list of their country BEFORE purchasing any garment which is wholly or part animal product. This may also extend to plant-based fibres. Again, most governments provide a list of controlled goods and substances. Some countries require certification before accepting animal products into the country. Buyers must make the seller aware if certification is required before shipping. This can be a lengthy process so bear this in mind if you have a time constraint.

Our clothing measurements are taken with garments laying flat on a table and taken from edge to edge. Chest measurements are taken from under the arm holes and doubled. The best way to see if an item will fit you is to take a similar one you own and measure it laying flat, then compare measurements. They do not need to be spot on, just similar. If you know your body measurements, remember that some garments especially blazers, suit jackets and non-stretch fabrics require a spare inch or so for movement room so it hangs right and you can move your arms and also in areas such as the hip for sitting down and movement.
