Imagination is inspiration

Hi im Jane, a textile artist and Dollswithattitudes is a combination of my passion for creating sculptural textile forms and my other passion for recycling, reusing, make do and mend. I love using fabrics with a hidden history. My passion for textiles derives from a previous career in historical costume, where i was lucky enough to work with costumes dating from 1960 back to 1860. My make do and mend ethos derives from a frugal upbringing where everything was a hand me down, mended and reworked to fit. I source my fabrics from charity shops or from items gifted to me by friends, recently I have been using natural dyes such as logwood, onion skins, turmeric etc to tie dye recycled cottons and silk, from these I create my cloth hares and skittle dolls. Remaking, reusing and recycling is extremely important to me, I endeavour to share my passions within my dollswithattitudes!
