5 out of 5 starsThese are quite astonishing. About 49 years ago my mum and dad went to Spain on holiday and brought back some porcelain roses. Mum had them for about 38 years before they were lost, and I have been searching for something similar for a long time, so to stumble upon these exquisite flowers that are available in a huge range of colours is wonderful. I bought five to start and have now ordered another 6. My mum absolutely loves them. A very unusual floral gift for anyone.

About TheGlassFloristLtd

From design to curation, packaging and posting, The Glass Florist is run by me, Donna Marie from my garden studio.
-
Each flower is made using a select few tools; metal mashers, a graphite marver, a brass shaper, and a pair of tweezers!
-
I hand craft each flower, leaf, bud and bloom from a rod of glass heated to 1200 degrees before manipulated into shape.
-
Each purchase supports me to grow and develop this ancient craft, from the 1st Century BC, through to the 21st Century.
-
I handpick beautiful vases as they are just as important as the gorgeous glass blooms inside.
Lampwork Glass from the 1st Century BC to the 21st Century
Whilst on a trip in Canada back in 2013 I stumbled upon a glass studio up high in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia. I signed up to their lampwork class and it's safe to say the rest is history. I would then make my way up the mountain on the bus every day to practice. I created such a haul of pieces that my luggage was over weight and I had to fill my pockets with beads to fly home!
Lampwork is a technique that dates back to the 1st Century BC, originating in Syria and then more famously in Murano, Italy. I originally developed my skill working on beads and pendants, but 2020 bought about the curation of The Glass Florist. This combined my love of glass work with my fascination with flowers.
Today, I split each day between working full time and designing and creating beautiful designs for my amazing customers. I am always pushing to create more complex blooms, more extravagant bouquets and more luxurious products for you to all enjoy!
Lovely to meet you,
Donna Marie xx

Frequently asked questions
Tracked/Signed for Shipping
UK items are sent 48hr tracked and international are sent standard. If you require tracking information for international orders please upgrade to tracked at checkout.
Flower Length
The standard length is 20cm, this can be varied to any length from 5-30cm, simply add a note to seller at checkout to request a different length.
The stems are made from strong wire, I do not recommend you cut these yourself as it can damage the glass.
Flower Sizing
The flowers range in size from 1-5cm in diameter depending on the style of the flower head. When purchasing a bouquet the small/medium/large/xlarge refers to the size of the bouquet in terms of number of stems, the flower size remains the same across all options.
Custom and personalised orders
Custom orders are always welcome, you can use this listing and add a note to seller with your requests
