Abstract landscape inspired by the beautiful island of Menorca. In this piece I was interested in the contrast between the watercolour fluffiness and the sharpness of the ink lines as between the greenery and the rocks in the landscape of Menorca.
Strange how some images come about, from accidental visions and discoveries. Read about it -my inspiration and processes, on my Facebook page @dreamymeisme
I'm listing lots of original pieces that could make for a good present. This one is made with black ink. It has light and energy and wonderful depth through layering. Its title is "Life flow"

About

Art is revisiting childhood

++++ What I do ++++
I do drawing and illustration of everything and anything. I do patterns, flowers, people, cities, animals, abstract, landscapes... I like exploring all subjects. I find lots of joy in art. My artwork is sold at Etsy, society6, Deny Design, Saatchi online, Habitat UK and IKEA.

++++What I sell on Etsy++++
On my Etsy shop, I sell giclée prints, art printables and customised illustrations. Custom illustrations are my most popular article. People ask me to illustrate something for them. This is an interesting challenge. I try to avoid cliches and keep a sense of exploration. I like to add something unexpected to the brief -my very own interpretation of the stories my clients share with me. Drawings and illustrations have been a great source of joy to me and through my creations I would like to give the same to others.

++++ How it all started ++++
I studied architecture in Barcelona. I loved the creative part of my studies but I didn’t enjoy working in an office so much. Nevertheless I worked in architecture for years until I had my children. Then I rediscovered the wonders of childhood and wanted never to forget them again.
I was fascinated by children's books and gave up my career determined to become a children's book illustrator. I started by creating a few of my own picture books but unfortunately none of the publishers I approached were interested in them. Desperate to find a way to sutain my art practice, I asked people for advice. A friend suggested I tried Etsy. With prints from those early books I opened my shop in 2011.
My business' breakthrough was discovering people liked my customised illustrations. This happened quite accidentaly but custom illustrations are now my most popular product. I feel very lucky to be able to work with people's stories to produce art for them. This opportunity has helped me develop my art in many new directions.

+++ How I create +++
When I work on something new, I start with lots of doodling. Letting myself play and enjoy my painting. Sometimes I do watercolour, gouache or ink washes over lots of sheets of paper. From each one something different will develop. I get into a bit of a creative trance and lots of ideas come in to guide my work. These ideas are based on my sketch book work or on images I've seen somewhere. Sometimes is a technique I want to try, sometimes a combination of colours. Visiting galleries inspires me a lot and after some exhibitions I get very creative.
For my more illustrative/figurative work, I'm always inspired by stories. Stories are everywhere, in books, in films, in what people say...
I work at a messy home studio created in a corner in my living room. When the mess becomes unbearable I start tidying up and unfinished drawings appear that inspire me again. I draw every day, even if it's just a doodle. Drawing keeps me inspired and joyful. I use mainly watercolour and ink because of their beautiful luminosity.

Sizing details

Please contact me if the print size you are looking for is not listed. Most of my prints are available in lots of different sizes including large posters

Paper and printing quality

My prints are produced with a technique called giclée where archival inks and fine art paper are used resulting in an excellent colour and texture reproduction (you'd find it hard to tell the print from the original) Archival inks mean the print will not fade and will last for centuries!
For prints I use Somerset Velvet 255 gsm paper. This paper has a watercolour texture, it's strong and think.
For large posters to keep price low I use Fotospeed Matt Ultra 240gsm paper. This paper is smooth and bright white and although cheaper it's still lovely!
